Burnley beat Palace
Crystal Palace miss out on the chance to move into an automatic promotion place this afternoon, as Junior Stanislas scores a winner for Burnley 10 minutes from time at Turf Moor

Crystal Palace missed out on the chance to move into the automatic promotion places this afternoon as they were beaten by Burnley at Turf Moor.

Burnley were bright in the early stages and looked threatening through Junior Stanislas and Danny Ings, with the latter firing over in the first five minutes.

Glenn Murray scuffed over from close range for Palace before Wilfried Zaha had the visitors' best effort before the break, forcing Lee Grant to make a strong save with a drive from the edge of the penalty area.

Ian Holloway's side started to control possession after the interval but could not force Grant into any saves of note in the closing stages.

Sam Vokes then steered a shot wide from close range for the home side before Dean Marney worked Julian Speroni with a drive from distance.

Sean Dyche's side pressed the action late on and made the breakthrough when Stanislas drove home from the edge of the area.

Palace could not find a response in the last 10 minutes and slipped to a disappointing away defeat.
