Chicago Fire have beaten FC Dallas 2-1 thanks to a Marco Pappa goal in the second half.
The hosts enjoyed most of the possession in the first period and Sebastian Grazzini came closest to opening the scoring in the early stages.
However, FC Dallas took the lead in the closing minutes of the first half when Matt Hedges found space in the box to head past Sean Johnson.
The away side's lead only lasted three minutes though, as Grazzini produced a moment of magic to powerfully fire his long-range strike into the top corner.
FC Dallas had a great opportunity to take the lead in the 50th minute when Bruno Guarda was brought down inside the area but Blas Perez's penalty was saved by Johnson.
Chicago were then awarded a penalty but Grazzini was denied by Kevin Hartman. However, Pappa reacted quickly to score the rebound to make it 2-1.
The visitors were clearly rocked by Pappa's goal and failed to cause Chicago problems as the home side comfortably secured the victory.
