Chelsea youngster Kenedy returns early from Watford loan spell

Walter Mazzarri confirms that Chelsea youngster Kenedy has returned to his parent club after seeing an injury problem restrict him to just one appearance.

Watford boss Walter Mazzarri has confirmed that Kenedy has returned to parent club Chelsea after struggling to make an impact on loan at Vicarage Road.

The 20-year-old was promised regular playing time with the Hornets when joining for the season in August, only for an injury problem to curtail his hopes of Premier League action.

Kenedy featured for just 15 minutes in all during his time with Watford, coming in the 2-0 defeat to Burnley in September, and it was suggested by Blues teammate Cesc Fabregas last week that he had returned to West London.

Mazzarri has now revealed that the loan deal was indeed cut short, telling reporters: "Kenedy went back to Chelsea. He was a player we never had time to evaluate because he was injured the whole time."

Kenedy, who joined Chelsea from Fluminense last year, is now expected to go back out on loan early in the New Year.
