Manchester City and Chelsea will reportedly try to take advantage of Blaise Matuidi's contract situation at Paris Saint-Germain by making a January bid for the Frenchman.
The 26-year-old's current deal with the Ligue 1 champions expires in the summer, and he will be able to discuss pre-contract talks with other clubs in the New Year.
Matuidi has revealed that his preference would be to stay at Les Parisiens, and a report in France claims that they are preparing to offer the international midfielder a new five-year contract.
However, the Daily Star reports that both City and Chelsea may attempt to lure him to the Premier League in the winter window, and test PSG's resolve to keep him with a cut-price offer.
Matuidi made 37 appearances last season, scoring five goals in the process, as he played a key role in helping PSG win their first Ligue 1 title since 1994.
