Barcelona's Pedro denies holding talks with Jose Mourinho about Chelsea move

Barcelona's Pedro denies reports that he has held talks with Jose Mourinho regarding a potential move to Chelsea.

Barcelona attacker Pedro has rejected reports that he recently held talks with Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho regarding a potential move to Stamford Bridge.

The Spanish giants have cut the Spaniard's release clause to £21m amid interest from numerous clubs.

The 27-year-old struggled for regular first-team football at the Camp Nou last season due to Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar standing in his way.

While Pedro has admitted that he is not unhappy at Barcelona, the player has suggested that he is considering leaving the La Liga giants for a new destination.

"I did not talk to Mourinho," Pedro told reporters. "That would have been disrespectful to Barcelona. It is true that it was agreed to lower the buy-out clause and it is also true that there are offers.

"It is a difficult situation. You want more minutes, more options, to be at the forefront of things but things are getting more difficult for me.

"It's a dream playing for Barcelona. I have won many titles and this fills me with satisfaction and joy, but you have to have the ambition to keep improving and play regularly. I wish I could stay at Barca but it is a very demanding club. It's hard at the top level, so we'll see what happens, but obviously one is happier when one can play."

Pedro joined Barcelona in 2004.
