Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly ready to do battle in the race to sign Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook.

Liverpool and Chelsea have reportedly identified Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook as a potential signing.

While both clubs are well stocked for options in the middle of the pitch, the two Premier League giants could look to strengthen during the summer transfer window.

According to the Daily Mail, that could lead to a bid being made for Cook, despite the England international currently remaining out of the Cherries starting lineup.

Having recovered from a knee injury, the 22-year-old is attempting to reclaim his place in Eddie Howe's team heading into the middle part of the season.

Given that Cook has a contract until the end of the 2021-22 campaign, Bournemouth are unlikely to be in any rush to part ways with the former Leeds United man.

Cook has made 60 appearances for the south-coast outfit since moving to the Vitality Stadium in 2016.
