West Ham United are reportedly lining up a shock bid for Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou as they push for promotion into the Premier League.
The Daily Mail suggests that manager Sam Allardyce may move for the Ivory Coast international after a deal for Rangers' Nikica Jelavic collapsed.
Kalou has recently been linked with Arsenal, but a short-term loan to Upton Park may offer the 26-year-old the regular football he is looking for.
The striker has fallen out of favour since the arrival of Andre Villas-Boas as manager at Stamford Bridge.
Kalou is currently with the Ivory Coast squad at the African Cup of Nations.
