AC Milan are reportedly ready to rival Juventus for the signature of Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud.
The 34-year-old has affirmed that he wants to continue at Stamford Bridge past the end of the season, but he is yet to pen an extension on his current deal, which expires in the summer.
Giroud is able to enter talks with clubs elsewhere this month, and Juventus manager Andrea Pirlo recently hinted that the Serie A champions could look to swoop for the former Arsenal man.
However, according to Sky Sports News, AC Milan are also admirers of Giroud and are keeping a close eye on developments surrounding his contract situation.
The Rossoneri are thought to be in the market for a new forward as Zlatan Ibrahimovic approaches his 40th birthday, and the report claims that Juventus could turn their attention to Napoli's Arkadiusz Milik or Fernando Llorente if a deal for Giroud fails to materialise.
Giroud boasts nine goals in all competitions for Frank Lampard's side this term but has only made the starting lineup on four occasions in the current Premier League season.
