Cole Palmer is named on Chelsea's substitutes' bench for Saturday's Premier League fixture with Nottingham Forest.

Cole Palmer has been named on Chelsea's substitutes' bench for Saturday's Premier League fixture with Nottingham Forest.

The England Under-21 international left Manchester City to move to Stamford Bridge on Friday, beating the midday deadline to be eligible for this game.

Head coach Mauricio Pochettino has wasted no time in using the playmaker in his squad, making him an option among his replacements.

Mykhaylo Mudryk is also back in contention after missing two matches through injury, while Deivid Washington is selected in the squad for the first time courtesy of Mason Burstow moving on loan to Sunderland.

Marc Cucurella and Ian Maatsen are named in the squad having been heavily linked with a transfer to Manchester United and Burnley respectively before the end of the summer transfer window.

Pochettino has reverted back to the starting lineup from the win over Luton Town after making seven alterations for the EFL Cup tie with AFC Wimbledon in midweek.

As far as Forest are concerned, none of the additions from the closing 48 hours of business are included in Steve Cooper's starting lineup.

Joe Worrall is able to return after serving a one-match suspension in midweek, with Orel Mangala being included in place of Brennan Johnson who has signed for Nottingham Forest.

Nuno Tavares featured among the replacements, but Chelsea loanee Andrey Santos is ineligible and former Blues winger Callum Hudson-Odoi only moved to the City Ground on Friday evening.
