West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis bemoans his side's mistake which allowed Chelsea to score the only goal of the game in their 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has admitted that he is "disappointed" with the manner in which his side conceded the only goal of the game against Chelsea this afternoon.

Gareth McAuley's error allowed Diego Costa to fire home his 12th goal of the season at Stamford Bridge, ending a four-match unbeaten streak for the Baggies in the process.

Pulis bemoaned the fact that one lapse in concentration cost his side, but on the whole was pleased with what he saw against the league leaders.

"The goal's disappointing because Gareth should have dealt with it," he told reporters.

"I'm disappointed for them, because they've put so much into the game to then get beaten by that one mistake.

"I have no qualms about how hard they worked. Hopefully that honesty will set us up to achieve something in the rest of the season."

Despite the defeat, West Brom still sit eighth in the Premier League table, closer to the top five than they are to the relegation zone.
