Jose Mourinho plays down winning record

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho plays down the importance of personal records having reached 100 Premier League wins faster than any other manager in the league's history.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has played down the importance of personal records, having reached the landmark of 100 Premier League wins faster than any other manager.

Mourinho brought up his century with a 3-1 win over Manchester United this afternoon, the same club that he enjoyed his first victory over almost a decade ago.

The 50-year-old broke former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson's record for fewest matches taken to reach the milestone, but he insists that the most important thing was picking up the three points for his side.

"I don't care about records. I want to win the next match. This was the last match, but it's quite a coincidence: the first was against Man United, the 100th was against Man United," PA quotes Mourinho as saying.

"The previous owner of the record was Man United manager, so quite a coincidence. The important thing for me is that these 100 matches, they gave 300 points to Chelsea and especially today these three points are very important for us."

Chelsea now sit just two points behind leaders Arsenal in the Premier League table.
