Nemanja Matic: 'Chelsea can match Arsenal Invincibles'

Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic expresses his desire to stay unbeaten for the entire Premier League campaign and emulate Arsenal's 'Invincibles' in the process.

Nemanja Matic has revealed that he and his Chelsea teammates are determined to remain unbeaten all season and emulate Arsenal's 'Invincibles'.

The Blues sit six points clear of champions Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table after winning 10 of their first 13 outings, dropping just six points.

The Gunners famously managed to negotiate a 38-game season without being defeated in the 2003-04 campaign, and Matic says that the West Londoners want to achieve the same feat.

"We are in a determined mood and there is more pressure for us because we want to go through the season unbeaten. We want to be the new Invincibles," he told The Mirror.

"I want to win every game if possible. People can say the unbeaten record is putting more pressure on us. But I would rather have it this way because winning is never boring.

"When you win, training feels better and so does playing matches. I don't know if we are better than the Chelsea team who won the title 10 years ago, but we know our qualities and we are a stylish team."

Jose Mourinho's side, who are also yet to lose in the Capital One Cup or Champions League, bringing their unbeaten run to 20 games in total, face Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow night.
