Chelsea boss Frank Lampard bemoans his side's lack of cutting edge in attack following Monday's 2-0 loss to Chelsea.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has admitted that his side are lacking a cutting edge in the final third following Monday's 2-0 defeat to Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues created a host of chances against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side but goals from Anthony Martial and Harry Maguire handed the visitors a two-goal success on the night.

Michy Batshuayi, who replaced the injured Tammy Abraham in attack, struggled to make the most of a couple of good opportunities, and Lampard has bemoaned his side's problems in attacking areas.

"We're losing games where we have a lot of possession, lots of shots. We're not getting goals from striker areas or from wide areas and it's hard to win games if you don't score goals," Lampard told reporters.

Olivier Giroud came off the bench to find the back of the net late on, but the Frenchman's effort was chalked off for offside, while Kurt Zouma also had a goal disallowed by VAR.

Chelsea will be looking to return to winning ways in the league when they welcome Jose Mourinho's Tottenham Hotspur side to Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
