Antonio Conte 'not worried' about Alvaro Morata omission from Spain squad

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte challenges Alvaro Morata to regain his best form after being left out of Spain's latest squad, three months before the World Cup begins.

Antonio Conte has insisted that Spain manager Julen Lopetegui's decision to leave Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata out of his latest squad is of no concern to him.

The 25-year-old's loss of form at club level has cost him a place in La Roja's group for the prestige friendlies against Germany and Argentina later this month.

Morata, who has gone 13 matches without finding the net for Chelsea - eight of those being sub appearances - is now facing a battle to force his way into Lopetegui's plans for this summer's World Cup finals.

Much like with Gary Cahill's omission from the England squad on Thursday, though, Blues boss Conte is more concerned about seeing the big-money striker prove a point between now and the end of the season.

"This question is for the national coach not me," he told reporters at Friday's press conference. "My only worry is to have the players in the best form for Chelsea. Maybe he could score on Sunday."

Morata, with six goals in his first six outings for the club, has been replaced in the Spain squad by former Chelsea striker Diego Costa.
