Former Birmingham City forward James McFadden has been given a trial at Celtic to prove his worth to potential boss Neil Lennon.
The 28-year-old, who was believed to be signing for Wolverhampton Wanderers last month, will have his fitness monitored by the Scottish club.
"We are hoping he is going to come up and train for a few days," Sky Sports News quotes Lennon as saying.
"He's a player that I've liked for quite a while. He is a very creative player and has good qualities and he is available.
"He's been out for a while but I know he has done some rigorous tests down south and passed them all. It would be remiss to sign him on the back of that so we will have a look at him first."
The Scotland international became a free agent after being released from Birmingham in the summer.
