Former Celtic and Norwich striker Chris Sutton believes that Gary Hooper has what it takes to succeed in the Premier League after his move to the Canaries.

Former Celtic and Norwich City striker Chris Sutton has backed Gary Hooper to succeed in the Premier League.

Hooper joined Norwich from Celtic last week after finishing as the Bhoys' top scorer in each of his three seasons with the club.

Sutton warned that things would not be so easy in England, but believes that the 25-year-old will benefit from a more attacking Norwich side next season.

"There is no doubt he can succeed but I think he'll find it more difficult," he told reporters.

"Last year, Norwich were not the most overly attack-minded team and Chris Hughton did a good job keeping them in Premiership.

"This year it will a different ball game. They have spent heavily bringing in Ricky van Wolfswinkel and Hooper. So they will be looking for goals from him but he is very efficient and a really good finisher."

Hooper scored 82 goals in 138 appearances for Celtic after joining from Scunthorpe United in 2010.
