Celtic retain Scottish Premiership title

Celtic win the Scottish Premiership title for the fourth straight year after Aberdeen fail to beat Dundee United.

Celtic have been crowned Scottish Premiership champions after Aberdeen lost to Dundee United this afternoon.

The Bhoys' 5-0 victory over Dundee last night meant that Aberdeen had to beat the Terrors today to maintain their slim chances of catching Celtic, but Robbie Muirhead scored the only goal of the game in the 13th minute to condemn the Dons to defeat.

Leigh Griffiths led Celtic's scoring charts with 13 league goals this term, and Stefan Johansen also excelled in the Celtic midfield.

They have now added their second trophy of the season to the Scottish League Cup, but were denied a treble by Inverness Caledonian Thistle, who defeated them in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup.

Norwegian manager Ronny Deila has delivered the title in his first season in charge at Parkhead, with three matches to spare. It is Celtic's fourth successive Scottish Premiership triumph.
