Tuesday's League One predictions including Portsmouth vs. Barnsley

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's League One fixtures, including Portsmouth vs. Barnsley.

Burton Albion vs. Cheltenham (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

After taking a point from their last two matches, Burton Albion will try to return to winning ways when they face Cheltenham Town in Tuesday's League One contest.

Like their hosts, the Robins will also be looking for a positive response after losing each of their last three matches.

We say: Burton Albion 2-1 Cheltenham Town

Burton may have lost out to Lincoln at the weekend, but they have won three of their previous five home matches, and we think they will draw upon that success to claim a narrow victory over a Cheltenham side that has lost their last three away games.

Bristol Rovers vs. Cambridge (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Cambridge United will be bidding to take a huge step towards securing their status in League One for the 2024-25 campaign when they head to Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night.

The visitors are currently 18th in the table, six points clear of the relegation zone, while the hosts sit 15th, boasting 54 points from their 43 league matches in 2023-24.

We say: Bristol Rovers 1-1 Cambridge United

Cambridge's recent performances have been impressive, and we are backing them to pick up another positive result on Tuesday despite their poor away form. Bristol Rovers do not have an awful lot to play for at this stage, and the hosts might have to settle for a share of the spoils here.

Port Vale vs. Wycombe (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Two teams sitting level on 30 points in the League One table will face off when Port Vale play host to Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.

The home side are searching for their first win of 2024, while the Chairboys are looking to extend their unbeaten run to six matches.

We say: Port Vale 2-2 Wycombe Wanderers

Although Port Vale have lost their last two home games against Wycombe, they did take a point off the Chairboys in December's reverse fixture at Adams Park.

With the teams currently level on 30 points, we think that two closely-matched sides will play out a draw in Saturday's contest.

Bolton vs. Shrewsbury (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Bolton Wanderers will continue their League One promotion bid in Tuesday's home clash with Shrewsbury Town.

The Trotters are currently sitting in third place in the table, while the visitors will head into the midweek contest in 19th position.

We say: Bolton Wanderers 2-0 Shrewsbury Town

Although Bolton were involved in a draw on Saturday, they have managed to win five of their last eight home matches, and we think they will make full use of home advantage to claim three points in Tuesday's fixture.

Oxford Utd vs. Lincoln (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Two teams battling to secure playoff positions in the League One table will lock horns for a huge game on Tuesday evening, with Oxford United welcoming Lincoln City to the Kassam Stadium.

Oxford are currently sixth in the division, three points ahead of seventh-placed Blackpool, who have played a game more, while Lincoln occupy eighth spot, five points behind their opponents in this fixture.

We say: Oxford United 2-0 Lincoln City

Oxford will be looking to do the league double over Lincoln, having run out 2-0 winners in the reverse match earlier this season, and we are backing the home side to secure all three points on Tuesday evening courtesy of the same scoreline.

Portsmouth vs. Barnsley (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

League One leaders Portsmouth will have the opportunity to clinch promotion when they welcome Barnsley to Fratton Park on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Tykes are currently sitting in fifth position and are hoping to secure their place in the League One playoffs.

We say: Portsmouth 2-2 Barnsley

Portsmouth have seen two of their last three matches finish all square, and after drawing their previous two home games against Barnsley, we think they will settle for the point that would secure promotion to the Championship.

Peterborough vs. Fleetwood (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Aiming to keep their faint hopes of automatic promotion alive, Peterborough United will welcome relegation-threatened Fleetwood Town to Weston Homes Stadium on Tuesday night in League One.

Posh suffered a humiliating five-goal defeat at in-form Oxford United on Saturday afternoon, whilst the Cod Army secured a much-needed maximum over Northampton Town.

We say: Peterborough United 2-1 Fleetwood Town

After Saturday's disappointment at Oxford, Peterborough cannot afford any more slip ups in the race for automatic promotion, starting against League Two-bound Fleetwood on Tuesday.

The Cod Army were relatively-comfortable victors over Northampton last time out, but we do not envisage Adam's men making it back-to-back results at Weston Homes Stadium.
