Burnley co-chairman John Banaszkiewicz has insisted that the Clarets have not received a bid from Southampton for striker Danny Ings.
Ings is expected to attract interest from a number of Premier League clubs in the summer, but after rejecting claims that they had already turned down an offer from the Saints, Banaszkiewicz has revealed that Burnley intend on keeping the 21-year-old at Turf Moor.
Banaszkiewicz told the Burnley Express: "I haven't had anything at all from them or received anything from Southampton.
"We haven't had any formal approach but regardless, it's in our interests to keep him because he's been a great asset to the club. We'd like him to stay, he's still contracted to us and we'd like to maintain that for next season."
Ings netted 26 times in 45 appearances for Burnley last season as they secured promotion to the Premier League.
