Bristol City 2-2 Crystal Palace

Bristol City clinch a point with a dramatic late equaliser against Crystal Palace at Ashton Gate.

Bristol City came from 2-0 down to earn a vital point against Crystal Palace at Ashton Gate tonight.

Crystal Palace took the lead after 14 minutes, when Wilfred Zaha sped down the wing before cutting inside and firing his shot past David James and into the top corner.

City went searching for an equaliser and almost got it when Pearson unleashed a 30-yard shot that cannoned back off the crossbar.

However, it was Palace who got the second goal of the game after 70 minutes when Liam Fontaine brought down Glenn Murray in the box. Darren Ambrose stepped up to convert the spot kick and double the away side's advantage.

The two-goal lead was short-lived, however, as less than ten minutes later, City got a goal to bring them back into the match courtesy of a fantastic curling free-kick from substitute Brett Pitman.

Pitman then completed the dramatic comeback for the Robins in stoppage time. The ball was bouncing around the Palace penalty area before Pitman lashed home the late equaliser.
