Brighton & Hove Albion boss Chris Hughton has hailed his side's record-breaking achievement following their 2-1 win over MK Dons.
The Seagulls extended their unbeaten record in the Championship to 17 matches, breaking their club record dating back to the 1930-31 campaign.
Hughton told the club's official website: "It's a wonderful achievement and the record is something of which we are all very proud, because we all know how difficult it is in the Championship. I am also proud of the manner in which we have done it.
"Generally we have not been a team that have swept other teams away and won comfortably. We have been a team that has had to work very hard for every result and that shows a real character in the squad. It is a great achievement and the manner in which we have done it should make them even more proud as a team.
"Most importantly we got the win today which keeps us very much in contention at the top – which is where we want to be. In this league we had another tough game today which we deserved to win, but which you always know can go either way. At this moment it is a nice feeling to be inside the top two. We have deserved it."
Brighton moved back into the top two in the Championship as a result of their win.
