Chris Smalling: Teams are beginning to "fear" England ahead of Euro 2016

Chris Smalling believes that England have become an outfit to fear for opposing sides ahead of Euro 2016 after talking with his Manchester United teammates.

Chris Smalling has revealed that his foreign teammates at Manchester United "fear" the side that England have become ahead of Euro 2016.

The Three Lions eased their way into the competition in France next year by winning all 10 of their qualifying matches to re-establish themselves on the international scene following a dismal performance at the 2014 World Cup.

Smalling has admitted that England's displays have not gone unnoticed by his foreign teammates at the Red Devils ahead of their upcoming friendly matches either side of the turn of the year.

He is quoted as saying by The People: "The foreign lads at United definitely rate the England team.

"We've been joking with Bastian Schweinsteiger as we've got Germany in [a friendly in] March, and we've also got Daley Blind's Holland team that month, too.

"They've got a high regard, because they know what talent we have in this country and they come up against it every week. We might not have proven ourselves in tournaments, but we still put a lot of fear into top players from other countries."

England play Spain in a friendly match next week.
