Team News: Shinji Kagawa starts for Borussia Dortmund against Freiburg

Shinji Kagawa is handed a starting spot on his Borussia Dortmund return against Freiburg.

Shinji Kagawa has been named in the Borussia Dortmund team for the first time since returning to the club as they play host to Freiburg in the Bundesliga.

The Japanese midfielder, a huge success in his previous spell with the club, was not expected to make his comeback so soon after leaving Manchester United, but an injury to Marco Reus has persuaded Jurgen Klopp to change his mind.

Klopp has also decided against playing either Ciro Immobile or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who will both start the match on the bench.

Freiburg head to Signal Iduna Park with just one player in attack as Admir Mehmedi starts the match with support from the likes of Vladimir Darida and Felix Klaus.

Dortmund: Weidenfeller, Piszczek, Subotic, Sokratis, Durm , Kehl, Jojic, Kagawa, Mkhitaryan, Grosskreutz, Ramos

Freiburg: Bürki, Sorg, Krmas, Kempf, Günter, Schmid, Höfler, Schuster, Klaus, Darida, Mehmedi
