Borussia Dortmund defender Lukasz Piszczek will miss the start of next season as he will undergo a hip surgery after the Champions League final.

Borussia Dortmund defender Lukasz Piszczek will undergo hip surgery after Saturday's Champions League final against Bayern Munich.

The 27-year-old has been suffering with the problem for a number of months and will go under the knife at the end of the season.

Piszczek will then be expected to miss the start of the 2013-14 campaign as he could be out of action for five months.

The Poland international right-back has been at Dortmund since 2010.
