Champions Paris Saint-Germain move further clear at the top of the Ligue 1 standings with a slender 1-0 win away at Bordeaux.

Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain have defeated Bordeaux 1-0 at the Matmut Atlantique courtesy of Giovani Lo Celso's second-half strike.

The 22-year-old midfielder maintained his impressive form by finding a way through for the game's only goal 13 minutes from time, making it three in his last three matches.

PSG, who made certain of top spot last weekend, are now 20 points clear at the summit following second-placed Monaco's 3-1 loss to Guingamp on Saturday evening.

Benoit Costil was needed 13 minutes in to keep out Lo Celso from one of just two on-target attempts for the visitors - the other proving to be the winning goal.

Bordeaux looked more lively in attack as they went in search of a third successive win, with Martin Braithwaite forcing Alphonse Areola into a smart save soon after.

A headed chance then came and went for Javier Pastore and Kylian Mbappe failed to convert after being picked out by Lo Celso.

PSG thought that they had made the breakthrough early in the second half, only for the offside flag to go against Edinson Cavani.

The champions had to ride their luck at times, however, as Pablo was the next to test Areola, coming just a couple of minutes before Lo Celso blasted home from the edge of the box after a corner was only half-cleared.

Victory for the Parisians - their 29th of the season - leaves them on course to smash the 100-points barrier.

BORDEAUX (4-3-3): Costil; Sabaly, Pablo, Kounde, Poundje; Sankhare (Meite 71'), Plasil (Laborde 79'), Lerager; Malcom, Braithwaite (De Preville 72'), Kamano

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN (4-3-3): Areola; Dani Alves, Marquinhos, Kimpembe, Berchiche; Lo Celso, Rabiot, Nkunku (Draxler 62'); Pastore (Motta 65'), Cavani, Mbappe (Meunier 81')
