Newcastle United head to the Reebok Stadium looking for their first victory in six matches.

Alan Pardew will take his Newcastle United side to Bolton Wanderers on Boxing Day looking for their first win in six matches.

The Magpies' chances of taking all three points have been boosted by the return of French midfielder Yohan Cabaye, who missed Wednesday's defeat to West Bromwich Albion because of suspension.

However, Pardew will be without the services of full-back Davide Santon, who is nursing a knee injury. Midfielder Danny Guthrie will also miss the match with an ankle problem.

Owen Coyle will be hoping that his Bolton Wanderers side can build upon the momentum gained from the mid-week win over fellow strugglers Blackburn Rovers.

Captain Kevin Davies, who was dropped for the Blackburn victory, could return to partner Ivan Klasnic in attack, while Paul Robinson is expected to take the place of the injured Marcos Alonso at left-back.

Current form:

Bolton: LLLLLW
Newcastle: LDLLDL

Sports Mole says: 2-2
