Marcos Alonso will miss up to six weeks after reinjuring his foot.

Bolton Wanderers have confirmed that Marcos Alonso will be out for up to six weeks after reinjuring himself against Blackburn Rovers.

Alonso – who made his first start of the season at Fulham a week ago – kept his place in the side for the trip to Ewood Park, but was forced off on the hour after reaggravating a pin in his foot.

"Marcos picked up an injury the other night," said manager Owen Coyle. "He is set to be out for six weeks but we are hoping it will be less than that.

"There was no new fracture as such, but the pin that was inserted to heal the original fracture has taken a knock and that needs to be replaced.

"Marcos came in for the Fulham game and looked so confident and assured the other night at Blackburn. When he comes back fit and available he will be ready to kick-on and have a terrific career."

Alonso, 20, has been at the Reebok Stadium for 18 months following his arrival from Real Madrid.
