Neil Lennon: Nottingham Forest draw a "monkey off our back"

Bolton Wanderers manager Neil Lennon is confident that his side's first Championship goal of the campaign will help to ignite their season.

Neil Lennon has said that he is hopeful Stephen Dobbie's late leveller against Nottingham Forest can provide Bolton Wanderers with some much-needed momentum.

The Trotters picked up a second point of the season after claiming a 1-1 draw at the Macron Stadium on Saturday.

Bolton boss Lennon, who has seen his side score just the one goal so far this term, believes that a corner may now have been turned.

"That's the monkey off our back," he told The Bolton News. "Now we've got to look ahead and make sure we keep up the momentum.

"If you don't score goals, it is going to prey on your strikers' minds, the team's mind. At times it can suck the energy out of the team when they are giving their all.

"Psychologically, that is a huge lift. We did more than enough to win the game and it has been the story of our season so far. We don't look like a team that is second bottom in the table."

Bolton remain inside the Championship relegation zone in the early league standings.
