Bolton Wanderers seal move for Italian defender Francesco Pisano

Italian defender Francesco Pisano joins Bolton Wanderers on a two-year contract after his release by Cagliari.

Championship side Bolton Wanderers have signed former Cagliari Calcio right-back Francesco Pisano on a two-year contract.

The former Italy Under-21 international, 29, was a free agent having been released after Cagliari's relegation from Serie A last season.

He had spent his entire career with the Sardinia-based outfit.

It was two in, one out at the Macron Stadium yesterday as Pisano joined Wellington Silva in moving to the Trotters, while Tim Ream departed for Fulham.

Pisano could make his debut under Neil Lennon in Saturday's home match against Nottingham Forest, with Bolton still searching for their first win and first goal of the season.
