Lee Clark: "We deserved to win"

Blackpool boss Lee Clark believes that it was vital for his side to pick up their first win under his management as they beat former club Birmingham 1-0.

Blackpool boss Lee Clark believes that his side fully deserved the three points in their 1-0 victory over fellow Championship strugglers Birmingham City at Bloomfield Road.

Steven Davies scored the only goal of the game to fire the Tangerines to their first win under Clark, which came against the club who sacked him earlier in the season.

Clark told the club's official website: "We're not getting too excited but the mood is great in the dressing room. We've still got a big job ahead of us.

"We deserved to win today and the three points were important to close that gap."

Blackpool remain bottom of the Championship, despite securing just their second win of the season.
