Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean praised his side after their "massive win" over Fulham on Saturday afternoon.
Kean also stated that he felt Yakubu was harshly dismissed from play in the first half after the Nigerian tangled with Fulham's Danny Murphy.
"It's a massive win for us. I felt we started the game very well but as you say when you get the red card, it's an early red card, so it's a daunting feeling," Kean told Sky Sports News.
"You need to look at each challenge ... I was really expecting him to throw a yellow card but when it was red I couldn't believe it."
The win moves Blackburn out of the relegation zone in the Premier League table.
