Chris Burke has revealed that he would like to regain his place in the Birmingham City starting lineup.
The 29-year-old was a regular in the team last season but so far this campaign he has been forced to spend large spells on the bench.
However, rather than dwelling on the decision of manager Lee Clark to drop him, Burke has insisted that he will give his all in training in the hope of impressing his boss.
"Not playing is tough, it's hard for any player to take," he told the Birmingham Mail. "I just have to look to myself and what I can bring to the team and hopefully, if I keep working hard on the training field and I show the manager what I can do, then he will pick me.
"It's his decision the team that he wants to pick. He's picked a team that he feels will win the football match. I respect that."
Burke joined the Blues last year from Cardiff City.
