Enzo Perez says that Benfica's gameplan to attack for 90 minutes was a success.

Benfica midfielder Enzo Perez has said that his side have reached the Europa League final because they made the decision to attack Fenerbahce from the first minute in the home tie of their semi-final.

The Portuguese side overturned a 1-0 first-leg deficit to go through 3-2 on aggregate, with Perez claiming that the home support helped the players attack for 90 minutes.

"I think we played a great match," Perez told UEFA.com. "We came out really strongly in the first half. We knew we had a chance with our fans behind us.

"Fenerbahce's penalty didn't change things too much because our mentality was always to get after our opponents. That was our attitude until the 90th minute and that's how we got the result that we did.

"It's a wonderful situation to be in, and great to have brought happiness to our fans, but we haven't won anything yet. It's 50-50. There are no favourites in a final. The two teams there deserve it. We need to rest, and be ready for a big Europa League final."

Benfica will meet Premier League side Chelsea at the Amsterdam ArenA in the final.
