Inter Milan vice-president Javier Zanetti has rubbished reports suggesting that Barcelona are in talks to sign Lautaro Martinez.
The 23-year-old was frequently linked with a switch to Camp Nou earlier in the summer, although speculation over the striker's future cooled as the coronavirus pandemic wreaked havoc across the sporting landscape.
However, a recent report claimed that Barcelona were preparing a final offer for the Argentine, with current striker Luis Suarez looking set to leave the Catalan giants for Juventus.
But Inter chief and legend Zanetti has dispelled those rumours, telling Italian newspaper Libero: "In his case, being just a young player with such potential, it's normal for other teams to look at him.
"But what I see each day as a Lautaro who wants to stay in Italy. At the moment, there are no negotiations between Inter and Barcelona.
"We're happy with him and I know he's happy here too. He knows that he's at a great club and that he's improving a lot thanks to the coach (Antonio Conte)."
Martinez notched up 21 goals in 49 outings for Inter across all competitions during the 2019-20 campaign, and the forward is under contract with the Serie A giants until 2023.
