Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has said that he sympathies with Jasper Cillessen's current situation at Camp Nou, but the German is not ready to give up his spot at the Spanish outfit.
Cillessen, 29, has only made two La Liga appearances for Barcelona since his arrival in 2016, with Ter Stegen very much the number one goalkeeper at the Catalan club.
A number of clubs have been linked with moves for the Netherlands international this summer, and Ter Stegen has said that it is up to Cillessen whether he wants to seek pastures new.
"I can't really say much about Jasper. If he wants to leave it depends on him. It's a personal thing," Ter Stegen told reporters. "I understand that he wants to play, but I also want to be the number one and to play in all the competitions. He knows it and the club knows it."
Earlier this summer, it was claimed that Barcelona would sell Cillessen if they received an offer in the region of £27m.
