Report: Barcelona want Aymeric Laporte

A report claims that Barcelona want to sign Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte.

Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte.

As it stands, the Catalan outfit are under a transfer ban for breaking FIFA rules over the signing of Under-18 players.

However, it is understood that club officials are confident of having the ban overturned before the end of the season, allowing them to complete transfer business this summer.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Laporte, who has also attracted interest from Bayern Munich, has emerged as their main defensive target.

The Frenchman has a release clause in the region of £28m, which Bilbao will reportedly demand before allowing the 19-year-old to discuss terms with the Catalan outfit.
