Barcelona sign Arda Turan from Atletico Madrid

Barcelona complete the signing of Turkish playmaker Arda Turan from La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid on a five-year contract for an initial £24.1m fee.

Barcelona have signed Turkish playmaker Arda Turan from La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid for an initial £24.1m fee.

The 28-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year contract that includes a clause allowing Atletico to re-sign him should he fail to make an impact at the Camp Nou.

Turan will not be able to play an official game for the Blaugrana until January 2016 due to a transfer ban imposed by FIFA for breaching rules over the signings of underage players.

The former Galatasaray midfielder was reportedly on the radar of Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United.
