Barcelona playmaker Andres Iniesta has revealed that it would be a dream come true to be handed the captaincy.
With Carles Puyol retiring, the skipper's armband is now up for grabs at the Camp Nou, and Iniesta has described what it would mean to him if new coach Luis Enrique were to give him the nod.
"Being captain of the first team has always been in your dreams," the Spain international told Mundo Deportivo.
"It's a step because it means you're still in the first team and keep improving. You have the respect of your peers, but also the other part, which is that you get older.
"It has its positive and negative parts."
Iniesta was part of the Spain squad that was knocked out in the World Cup's group stage.
