Celta Vigo appoint Eduardo Berizzo

Celta Vigo appoint former Argentina international Eduardo Berizzo as their new manager on a two-year deal.

Celta Vigo have appointed former Argentina international Eduardo Berizzo as their new manager.

Luis Enrique led the La Liga outfit into ninth position in Spain's top flight this season, but has since departed to take the managerial position at former club Barcelona.

Celta, however, have wasted little time in appointing a replacement, with Berizzo signing a two-year contract with the Spanish side.

Berizzo started his coaching career with Chile in 2007, before taking charge of Estudiantes and then Chilean outfit O'Higgins for three seasons.

The 44-year-old also spent four years with Celta as a player from 2001 to 2005, making more than 100 league appearances.
