Roda JC climb to fourth in Eredivisie after win at AZ

Roda climb to fourth in the Eredivisie table following a 1-0 win at AZ in Sunday's clash at the AFAS Stadion.

Roda JC's impressive form in the Eredivisie continues following their 1-0 win away at AZ Alkmaar in Sunday's clash at the AFAS Stadion.

Australian midfielder Rostyn Griffiths opened the scoring for the visitors in the 36th minute with a thumping header past Sergio Rochet - his first goal for the club.

Edwin Gyasi came close to doubling Roda's lead in the second half, but his shot was efficiently charged down by Derrick Luckassen.

The 24-year-old Dutchman then fired just wide in injury time, but the final whistle went moments later to confirm a third win in four for the Kerkrade outfit.

The result means that Roda climb to fourth in the Eredivisie table, while AZ drop to 14th place.
