Atletico Madrid decide to start lone striker Mario Mandzukic up top, while Antoine Griezmann settles for a place on the bench, as they travel to face Elche in La Liga.

Atletico Madrid have decided to put their faith in lone striker Mario Mandzukic as they travel to face Elche in La Liga this afternoon.

The visitors are to feature a 4-4-3 formation, which sees both Raul Garcia and Arda Turan providing attacking support from wider positions, with Antoine Griezmann dropping to the bench.

The hosts have deployed a similar formation that sees Brazilian frontman Jonathas prepared to work with the creative qualities supplied by Victor Rodriguez and Coro.

Elche have also handed a start to on-loan Chelsea midfielder Mario Pasalic, as well as the highly-rated Faycal Fajr in midfield.
