Raul Garcia fired in from the edge of the box, and then Diego Costa lifted the ball over Diego Marino from 20 yards out to give Atletico a commanding lead.

Valladolid struggled to get out of their own half, although Javi Guerra did advance to the box before being tackled by Toby Alderweireld.

Garcia then tried to find Costa, but he ran into three defenders and was harried out of it. After that, Atleti were happy to protect their advantage.
