Aston Villa have confirmed that Steve Bruce will remain the club's manager despite speculation linking Arsenal legend Thierry Henry with the post.
Bruce's position at Villa Park became shrouded in doubt following last week's takeover, which saw new majority owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens inject some much-needed cash into the financially-stricken club.
Sawiris and Edens were thought to be lining up Henry as a replacement for Bruce, but the club have now confirmed that the 57-year-old has their "full support".
"Aston Villa can confirm manager Steve Bruce has met majority owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens and will continue as manager with their full support," read an official club statement.
Bruce has been in charge of Villa since 2016, winning 42 of his 89 matches at the helm.
