League One side Sunderland are reportedly eyeing up a move for out-of-favour Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack.
The 13-cap Scotland international's career has stalled since joining the Villans from Fulham in a £12m deal in August 2016.
McCormack has been completely frozen out by Steve Bruce, seeing him loaned out to Nottingham Forest and Melbourne City, but he still has two years left to run on his four-year contract.
Bruce admitted at the weekend that he is desperate for a team to make an offer for both McCormack and fellow outcast Micah Richards, and the Daily Mail claims that Sunderland are interested in the former.
The Black Cats can only afford a loan move, but Villa - who have themselves struggled financially of late - may see that as the best-case scenario, with the striker's wages potentially off their books.
