Paul Lambert happy with pressure

Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert claims that he is happy with the pressure at the wrong end of the Premier League table this season.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has claimed that he is happy with the pressure at the bottom of the Premier League table.

Villa currently sit one point above the relegation zone following three defeats and one draw in their last four league matches.

"I'd rather have the pressure than not," Lambert told reporters.

"You've got to have pressure to perform and that is the making of football. If you have pressure on your shoulders every time and know you've got to perform, that is no different for the lads who are here.

"You have to be ready for everything that is coming your way."

Aston Villa entertain fellow strugglers Southampton in the league on Saturday.
