Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert: 'Fulham defeat was disappointing'

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert admits that losing at home to Fulham was "disappointing".

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has admitted that he was disappointed by his side's 2-1 home defeat to Fulham in the Premier League.

The Villans boss made it clear that he was dissatisfied with the result, but was quick to praise his team's goalscorer Grant Holt.

"It was a really open game, with chances at both ends, but it was disappointing to lose," Lambert told reporters.

"There are a lot of games left and you look to see who's playing who. A lot of teams are in the same situation as ourselves.

"I thought Grant Holt was excellent. He led the line great for us and produced a terrific header for the goal."

The result leaves Villa in 13th place in the Premier League table.
