Goalkeeper Brad Guzan is reportedly expected to re-sign for Aston Villa, despite being released by the club last month.

Brad Guzan is reportedly closing in on a return to Aston Villa, despite leaving the Premier League outfit last month.

The goalkeeper was released by the Villans at the end of the season after the expiration of his four-year contract.

Despite leaving the club under former boss Alex McLeish, new manager Paul Lambert is believed to be keen on bringing the 27-year-old back to the Midlands outfit, according to PA Sport.

It is understood that Guzan failed to agree a new deal with Villa at the close of the season.
