Claudio Ranieri has admitted that his AS Monaco side were fortunate to beat Reims in Friday night's Ligue 1 match.
A Valere Germain header gave the title challengers the lead with just eight minutes played. Prince Oniangue got Reims level early in the second half, but Jeremy Toulalan restored the home side's advantage.
Another Oniangue goal looked to have secured a point for the visitors, but Layvin Kurzawa grabbed the winning goal with just seconds remaining.
"Luck of champions? Yes, I agree. This is the truth. It was a very difficult game, but Reims are a very good, solid team, who played very well. I don't think they deserved to lose because they played a great game," Ranieri told reporters.
"My team played very well at the start. Afterwards, we were too stretched. Reims played some good football and showed themselves to be very compact."
Monaco are two points behind league leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
