Half-Time Report: AS Monaco hold slender lead at the break

Valere Germain's header gives AS Monaco a 1-0 lead against Reims at half time.

AS Monaco are beating Reims at half time in their Ligue 1 encounter this evening.

Jeremy Toulalan fired wide in what was an encouraging start for the hosts, but Reims showed that they were a threat when Aissa Mandi forced Danijel Subasic into a good stop.

However, Claudio Ranieri's side were soon in the lead when Valere Germain headed into the top corner from Joao Moutinho's cross.

Monaco's Emmanuel Riviere then failed to make the most of two decent chances, firing wide from Moutinho's corner before seeing a shot blocked.

Despite being a goal down, the away side continued to ask questions of the Monaco defence. Prince Oniangue probably should have done better after being found by Odair Fortes, but his header lacked accuracy and drifted over.

Florent Ghisolfi also blasted wide, again from a Fortes assist.
