Mesut Ozil hoping to outlast Unai Emery at Arsenal?

Midfielder Mesut Ozil is allegedly hoping to outlast manager Unai Emery at Arsenal after falling down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium.

Mesut Ozil is reportedly prepared to bide his time at Arsenal in the hope that manager Unai Emery is removed from his position in the dugout.

The midfielder is no longer in the first-team picture at the Emirates Stadium, leading to suggestions that the German could leave in January.

However, given that he holds a contract until 2021, the 31-year-old has insisted that he wants to stay in North London.

According to the Daily Star, Ozil is content spending time on the sidelines while Emery attempts to help his side put together a consistent run of form.

The Spaniard is currently dividing opinion, with some Arsenal supporters suggesting that the club's hierarchy should part ways with the former Sevilla and Paris Saint-Germain boss.

Ahead of their match with Crystal Palace this weekend, Arsenal sit in fifth position in the Premier League standings.
